Darjeeling is the paradise of the East. Lofty mountains surround Darjeeling. Excepting the monsoon months, the Kanchenjunga top can be seen. Down below in the valley flow the streams distended by rain water or melting snow. Darjeeling is a fascinating place rich in natural beauty and surrounded by Buddhist monasteries. Its beauty exceeds any other hill station. The genuine fun in coming to Darjeeling is on the toy train. It takes 6 to 7 hours to cover a distance of 82 kms and the slow speed gives you sufficient time to look at and appreciate the beauty which nature has given it.

A small but bustling town in the Himalaya foothills of West Bengal- Kalimpong is at an altitude of 1250 meters. Kalimpong is known for its monasteries, churches and a personal library for the study of Tibetan and Himalayan languages, culture etc. This place also has the Sericulture center and the orchid nurseries and naturally the place provides some attractive sights of the Himalayan range. Though not all travelers visit this place, which demands some attention. The journey from Darjeeling along the Teesta River is very interesting.

Tea estates, orange orchards and cardamom plantations surround Mirik. Mirik has all the facilities to fulfill the needs of a tourist, it is surrounded by forests, flowers and is a very peaceful place which attracts tourists automatically. This place is 5,800 feet above the sea level and has a population of 10,000 people. Mirik hasn't yet purchased the hustle of the regular hill station and is freed from pollution. Any time spend here is enough to refresh you.
